The Springboks vs the All Blacks match will be played at the Newlands Stadium in Cape Town this year. This means that our South African Golf tour will end in Cape Town, just in time for us to attend the match. Starting in Jo'burg, the tour will take you up to the world famous Kruger National Park where you will be treated to four game drives. This will give every opportunity for you to see the Big Five - Lion, Rhino, Leopard, Elephant and Buffalo. Moving back to Jo'burg you then fly down to George where you will experience the luxury of the Fancourt Golf Resort, playing their Outeniqua course, as well as the close by Oubaai course. You are then treated to the delights of the Garden Route, running along the south coast of Africa towards Cape Town, playing on top ranked courses along the way. Once in Cape Town, there will be time to visit Table Mountain as well as Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was kept for many years. If you want to play golf whilst you are on holiday but our packages dont go where or when you need them to, then remember that we can also help you with this. We can not only help you arrange your holiday, but also book your tee times at courses you may find difficult to access. As mentioned last month, we have recently launched a completely new area on our website under the brand of Golf Encounters. This is to cater for those who wish to take a golfing holiday, but not as part of a group tour. We have loaded up some sample tours to give you some ideas, but really the sky is the limit on what can be done here - whether it is just the two of you, two or three couples, a group of mates or a group from your golf club, we can custom build a holiday for you, gaining you access to those golf courses you have always wanted to play. We are still in the process of loading sample tours, so dont be put off by the handful that are there at the moment. More will be going up as time allows. Were excited to announce the launch of a brand new tour, our Scotland & Ireland Golf Experience . It will run from 17th August to 7th September next year.
The tour starts in Edinburgh, where we stay right in the city and attend the world famous Military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle. After our first round of golf at Gullane, we move on to the home of golf, St Andrews where our hotel is adjacent to the 1st & 18th holes of the Old Course. You will breakfast watching those fortunate enough to have tee times, teeing off on this famous piece of turf! We will play the New (which runs parallel with the Old Course) and Castle courses whilst here, along with Kingsbarns, a stunningly beautiful links course just up the coast from St Andrews. We then move on to the luxury of Gleneagles, where we will play the Kings Course. We have a free day here which gives the option to play the PGA or Queens course should you wish.
Next we fly across the Irish sea to Dublin where we will have time to explore the city of Dublin, visit the Guinness Storehouse and play Portmarnock Old Links. We then move down to Kinsale, a picturesque fishing village in the south of Ireland, via Waterford, stopping to take a quick tour around the Waterford Crystal factory there. From Kinsale, we play the Old Head Golf Links, a diamond of land that juts out into the Atlantic ocean - we have featured it in our advertising from time to time. Our final stop is Killarney, the tourist capital of Southern Ireland. You tour the Ring of Kerry from here, which we do on our way to and from the Waterville Links course. Tralee is the other stunning course we play - by the way, all the courses we play on this trip are Links, with the exception of Gleneagles.
